The Ban

This website was made to get the word out about the horrible practice of shark finning, but we are not the only ones who believe that it is wrong. Recently, a ban has been passed to make it illegal to sell or posses shark fins. This ban will help lower the amount of sharks that are being killed for their fins. Why are they being killed? Because Shark Fin Soup, a Chinese delicacy sold in many restaurants, has calls for shark fins as a primary ingredient. The ban would make it illegal for these restaurants to use shark fins in their meals, and therefore lower the demand for shark fins in general. This is one reason why we support the ban wholeheartedly.
